Chrysler and Valiant Hardtop Build Numbers

Presented below is a list of purely anecdotal build numbers of the CH, VH and VJ hardtops. This information is not based on any factory documentation. The same numbers have come to the register from a variety of sources, and the compliance plates presented to the register so far are consistent with the information, but it is not authoritative.

The VIN numbering of the bodies was sequential within a chassis prefix for the CH and VH model ranges. For example, the CH6P23 cars are numbered 1 to 399, and the CH8P23 cars are numbered 1 to 81. In other words, there are two sets of numbering for CH hardtops, not one. The VH range likewise has multiple number sequences.

On the other hand, there seems to have been only one body numbering sequence for the VJ range; i.e. they are numbered from 1 to 1060.
